6h grader Brianna has moved to her mom’s hometown to stay with her gruff uncle for 2 months while Mom goes away for intensive job training. From the road to the house is a tunnel of trees – beautiful during the day with the sun shining through the branches, but as the days get darker earlier, very spooky and perhaps haunted. In fact, actually haunted – by a girl who was hit by a car and left for dead. No one in the town will talk about the missing girl – Brianna only knows how and where she was killed because of her visions. Maybe Jacob, who befriends Brianna, can help her solve the mystery. Unless the killer finds out about their digging.

I always like a good, quick ghost book that works for a slightly younger audience. Scholastic has put out some good ones lately. Even with the talk of the ghost dragging a footless leg along, it won’t keep most elementary students up too late at night. Briana is white.
