Clara and her Bisa (grandma) are getting ready to celebrate Carnaval. They buy fabric and lots of things to decorate the costumes and make them sparkle. Carnaval is fun, with parades and the whole world watches this big celebration. It is very hot during the celebration, but everyone is happy and everyone is invited. Clara can't see her Bisa and so she directs the parade to her Bisa's part of town.

A fun and vibrant story about the big Carnaval in Brazil. I have always enjoyed learning about people in different countries and different cultures and find books like this fascinating. I think it is also fun for children to learn these things. I loved the colorful and bright illustrations that so well depict the vibrancy and excitement of preparations for Carnaval and Carnaval itself.
