Dan Santat adds his bright illustrative style to the words of Piper’s historic picture book. It has been a long time since I read the original. Santat doesn’t stray far from the original illustrations, but adds a bit of brightness that is characteristic of his work.  If you need a new copy of this title for your library, it is a fine edition to choose.
