A parrot challenges the rainforest animals to a race and everyone starts training. It seems that the little frogs stand no chance, but they leap ahead and end up winning the race. Everyone cheers with the sound of the frog and this sound is now the sound of the forest at night.
The booked lacked any clear indication of what motivated the animals beyond boredom and as a reader I never felt invested in who the winner would be. The frogs didn’t work particularly hard or do anything spectacular and, except for being small, their win was unimpressive.
