Pippa’s sister Verity gets all of the attention with her ballet. Pippa prefers to draw fashions in her sketchbook. While Verity is practicing for her appearance in Sleeping Beauty, Pippa’s sketches attract the attention of the head costumer and Pippa becomes immersed behind the scenes watching and helping as they get the costumes ready for the dance.
Because I am a longtime seamstress myself, I enjoyed the behind-the-scenes look at the ballet. I also have a relative who is a ballet costumer. But, unless someone is already a hardcore fashion creator, I don’t think casual readers will stick with this.
