Layla, a ladybug is sure that her luck comes from all of the “lucky” objects that she deploys around her. After a disaster when she tries to bake a cake for the Great Garden Cake Bake, her friends help her realize that things don’t create “luck”, her hard work and diligence helped her succeed.
The simple, stylized illustrations definitely point this to a younger audience, but the message is a great one to share with slightly older students.
