Sadie has trouble paying attention, her mind wanders and she daydreams and it's hard for her to bring back her focus. She forgets things, doesn't hear instructions, has trouble with friends and losing things. Sadie knows this is a problem but doesn't know what to do about it. Her parents are very supportive, they take Sadie's frustration and turn the problems into strengths - writing down positive words for her like Imaginative instead of "daydreaming" Curious instead of "distracted", risk taking instead of "mistakes" etc.
Saunders puts a great spin on the story of a child with AD/HD. Her experience as a psycotherapist allows her to show things in a way kids will understand. Lyon's illustrations are great, Sadie's expressions are wonderful. Includes an extensive note to Parents an Caregivers.
