On the first day of school, everyone is dropped off at school by their family, even Riley - her Papa and Daddy hug her goodbye and send her on her way. But her friend Olive is confused. Olive tells Riley that one mom and one dad make a family - which is her "real" dad? By the end of the day, Riley is very upset - she doesn't want to choose! Good thing Papa and Daddy know what to say - a family isn't who you are, it's about love.

Oh, Holzwarth's illustrations are wonderful, I loved all the different family representations, the children on the playground and the explosion of flowers! What a sweet read and a perfect story.
