This is the story of two children who go outside to enjoy playing on a winters day. There are just two words for each page and they are opposites –as illustrated by the two children and their actions. Climbing up to sled is UP and going down on the sled is DOWN. Rolling a big snowball for a snowman is BIG and rolling snowballs to throw is SMALL. The illustrations are adorable and mellow.
This is a cute book for a child just learning opposites. I like that is presents experiences that could actually happen to the child, which makes illustrating the opposites themselves much simpler. This book would make a good addition to a pre-k program.
