A family decided that life would be better if they got a cat. Tulip and Rose want a kitten, but Daddy wants an older cat and they argue about names. Mommy and Rosie go to a shelter close by, but it is out of business. Every one is disappointed. The next day, Mommy goes across town to a nice shelter. Will she find a cat that will please everyone?
The Kitten Story is true to life with realistic family conflict and disappointment. I liked the way the conflict was resolved. I also enjoyed Mommy telling the story. Cicchese's illustrations are well done and aptly display the emotion of each character.
