BUYING ADVISORY: EL (K-3) - ESSENTIAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
What's the story of a stone? It starts as magma or lava, it's been moved by roots, water, other rocks - maybe it ended up in the ocean, had other bits added to it and after eras of time finds itself someplace else.
A thoughtful and wonderous book - I'd never even considered that a rock has a story, or imagined all the places it might have been. I can't stop thinking about it! This picture book could easily spark a child's interest in geology. I loved the illustrations as well. Includes an author's note with additional resources and a great description of Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic rocks.
