Addie is a bat who grew up with two best friend bats, Ben and Jude. Their favorite thing was flying. They swooped, flipped, and somersaulted the nights away in front of forest friends. Addie's aerial stunts were so spectacular, that she became the star. Word began to spread, and one night Flipper von Swoopsalot asked her to come and join the Big Bat Circus! All three of them were ready to go on the train the next morning, but the circus only wanted Addie. Addie left on the train to be part of the Circus. Night after night she dazzled her fans. But as the weeks went on, Addie felt that something was missing. Do her friends still care about her?
Addie and the Amazing Acrobats is a funny and warm story about how Addie yearns for excitement but eventually realizes that friendship comes first. I enjoyed the cute graphic illustrations and layouts, it felt a bit like a graphic novel on some pages.
