Nina is in the fourth grade. Nina is excited about the really snowy weekend ahead. Her little sister Kavita will be there and Kavita is really into big words. Nina helps her with meanings all the time. Their friends Priya and Nayan are going to visit and there is going to be a big snowstorm. Priya and Nayan have just moved with their families from Florida to Wisconsin. Nina is excited to introduce them to lots of winter fun in all the new snow. She is planning to build a snow fort have snowball fights, and make snow angels. The neighbors are out of town, so Nina is supposed to keep an eye on the house next door. Somebody had been there, so maybe Priya and Nayan could help identify the mystery person (MP.) As the girls try to spy on MP they are in for a surprise.

The book is filled with so many fun things to do in the snow and the cold. I grew up in Norway, so I can easily picture the fun things the girls are doing. It made me remember the cold, the smell of the biting cold and the snow, snow forts, snowball fights, snow angels, and all the other things we did under the dark afternoon sky in the winter and the snow.

This was a fun, easy-to-read book, with realistic characters. I enjoyed this book. All the main characters in this book are immigrants from India.
