Bear is alone in his cave and is missing his friends. He decides to make a big dinner and invite everyone over, but he has no food. Mouse stops by with huckleberry pie. Bear says "Thanks!" He feels bad that he has nothing to give back. Then Hare brings muffins, Badger brings fish, Gopher and Mole bring nuts, and Raven and Wren bring pears and tea. Bear says, "Thanks!" but he is still sad that he has nothing to contribute. Then his friends tell him about something he can share.
Bear Says Thanks reminds us that we all have something to share even if it's not something you can hold, and how important it is to be gracious and thankful to others. Children will enjoy the text and cute artistic illustrations.
