Hooray for Fall! is a sweet story about a family of mice preparing for winter. The little mice siblings do some exploring and discover other creatures and woodland things during the fall season as winter approaches. The animals are anthropomorphized, wearing little red sweaters knit by Mama mouse, and various animals talk to one another about their preparations for winter.
This is a gentle, simple story with pretty illustrations in a predominantly yellow, orange and red color palette, appropriate for fall. The story includes very basic details about ways mushrooms, berries, trees, birds, and bears adapt to the changing seasons. It would make a sweet read aloud with young listeners, but wouldn't likely keep older students' attention.
