BUYING ADVISORY: EL (K-3) - ADVISABLE
AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
Dr. Morley and her crew have taken a ship to the Arctic to find an elusive Giant Arctic Jellyfish. But no matter where they look, they see everything but - they see polar bears, narwals, beluga whales, orca, and even the Northern Lights. The Jellyfish must be there somewhere - it must be hiding from them.
I loved the story, and I wondered at the beginning if there really is such a thing as the Giant Arctic Jellyfish. Chloe Savage's illustrations were so much fun - the interiors of the ship were very busy, with lots of things to look at and look for, while the underwater search illustrations were realistic. I loved the hiding jellyfish just out of sight. AJ loved the illustrations, she thought it was fun to try to find the hiding jellyfish. She thinks this would be a fun book for a teacher to read to the class.
