Covering the year 1960 during the Civil Rights Movement, this year sees more young adult Black women and men becoming peaceful protesters by organizing sit-ins and bus protests, as well as a brief look at Ruby Bridges, the first Black first grader to integrate into the William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans.

Well laid out and easy to read, this book covers some difficult subject matter in a concise and logical format. Would make a great resource without being too daunting to students. The layout almost feels like a Scholastic reading magazine but is interesting and informative.
