Climate change is a big and frightening problem we all face. Most climate change is caused by humans. We are increasing the greenhouse effect with burning fossil fuels, landfills and cutting down forests, which affects our climate in negative ways. Fourteen scientists examine climate change and list what individuals can do to stop this horrible cycle. From lichen studies, artificial intelligence, reforestation, eating less meat, protecting wetlands and ways to motivate people to save our planet, decrease and possibly eliminate climate change.
Climate Warriors is a must-have for school libraries. The fourteen scientists, their studies and findings are amazing. The pages have a what you can do section to help students understand that they can help decrease climate change. The text is informative and thorough but easy for young readers. The photos of the scientist and their actual work is fascinating. At the end of the book is a section on how the young reader can be a climate warrior with enticing pictures and lists of things students can do. There are several resources for further reading and study. One page features five young individuals who have made great strides in educating and decreasing climate change, great motivators for the elementary school audience. A must-have book. The scientists were multicultural.
