A brief look at the year 1957, one of the pivotal years of the civil rights movement. This year saw the Little Rock Nine try to integrate into white Central High School in Arkansas and the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1957.

A brief and fast read about 1957, the layout is colorful and appealing. It would make for a great resource in teaching about the Civil Rights Movement. Facts are easily accessible and key vocabulary words are highlighted. There is also a colorful timeline at the back with pictures that is a helpful overview.
