AUDIENCE APPEAL: LOW
A wildfire is coming and the little girl’s family is packing up to leave. She wants to bring everything, because everything is important to her. But, in the end, she whispers to her mom what she wants to bring.
I am so confused! I have read this three times – my assistant read it three times and we still don’t see what she wanted to bring. If it was her family, then clue us in, please. No need to be so secretive. While a class might discuss this and have their own ideas, I am not a fan of the guessing game for this particular book.
