Rooster has emigrated to a new country to be the rooster at a hotel. He tries to wake up the occupants of the hotel by crowing, but it does not work. Nothing he tries makes the animals in the hotel wake up. Will he have to go back to his own country?
The New Rooster is a brightly colored book with few words. I enjoyed the message that we are all universally the same. Readers will be exposed to several different languages in this book. It is a bright and engaging with a cute message, but I don't think young readers will reread this on their own.
