Each of the forest animals is in a predicament – especially little mouse who is in Fox’s belly. Only by working together can they right all of the wrongs and release Mouse, too.
The singy-songy rhyming is a weird choice for this book about a bad day. As I read it aloud, I felt like I was being tone-deaf to the mishaps and mouse’s peril. For an older creative writing class I could see this as a good exercise for re-writing the text as a better narrative.
