Mr. Grey is content to live a very structured dreary way of life. Everything in his life is fading. His canary is turning grey, and his dog no longer wags his tail. His neighbor Frieda Frolic bothers him constantly with her colorful yard and the noise she makes gardening, singing, and laughing. He feels her pig Rosa is especially annoying. One day Frieda is painting a bird and it flies off her canvas and into Mr. Grey’s window. Frieda knocks on Mr. Grey’s door to try to get her bird back. Mr. Grey is upset at first, but then Freida takes off her glasses and Mr. Grey notices that she has beautiful grey-blue eyes. Will Mr. Grey make some changes?
Mr. Grey and Frieda Frolic captures the transformation that comes when a person’s life is lifted and enhanced by another. This cute story is well written and delightfully depicted by beautiful illustrations.
