Katie is a really nice kid. She always goes along nicely. She’s a good sport when she looses and never puts up a fuss if she can’t get what she wants. Her parents call her a pleasure. But inside, Katie has problems with her baby brother and sometimes she GRUMBLESQUICHes. She has to push her negative feelings down. One morning her brother does too many things to her, and she finally screams out her feelings. She thinks she has ruined everything with her parents. Will her parents forgive her?
Sometimes I Grumblesquinch is a great way to open up a conversation about having negative feelings. Most kids want to be good and this book normalizes sometimes feeling frustrated with others. Cute illustrations capture the concept.
