Sophia loves to help decorate the house for Ramadan and eating special foods, like her dad’s pancakes. This year she wants to fast for the first time but it is really hard to fast from sunup to sundown, so Sophia does what she can to not think about food.
A great way to learn about Ramadan! The pictures are bright and colorful and I learned a lot from Sophia and her family. The author’s note at the back gives a beautiful and concise overview of Ramadan and ends with, “The month is about emptying oneself of all that is selfish, then filling oneself with all that is good, true, and beautiful. Just like Sophia did.”
