Granddad and the boy rescue a little bird, which seems determined to hang around as the pair work their way through their day. While the boy wants to keep the bird forever, Granddad insists that the bird needs to remain free.
While I’ve loved Usher’s other books about weather, this book about being free slips into magical realism and silliness. I just think it needs to be a very different looking book so that readers don’t think that it is part of the series.
