Bounce details the history of rubber and the science behind it. Starting thousands of years ago with the discovery of natural rubber in Mexico and Central America continuing through to the production of synthetic rubber today.
Albbe and Ewen present the information in an interesting, engaging, and accessible way. The illustrations add interest, and the scientific explanations are easy to understand. The author tries to give a very balanced approach to all of the people involved in rubber, from the Indigenous people who first discovered it to the explorers who stole it to the inventors and producers who made it what it is today. At the end there is a timeline and bibliography.
