Little Bella Gosi has just moved to Shiver by the Sea, a strange small town with a touch of magic. Bella doesn't believe in magic, but that may change after she discovers a bat that turns into a lost vampire boy. Bella can relate to missing home and thinks she can help the kid vampire find his.
A nice little story about finding friends and accepting others who are different. There aren't many surprises, but it's sweet and a fast read. Readers may be intrigued by a town that is full of unexpected residents. Race is never specified, but the line drawings indicate diverse backgrounds.
