From Shore to Ocean Floor is a reference book. Incorporating some graphic novel elements, the history of sailing is presented including some origin stories. It covers myths, legends, and investigations of the salty seas. The undersea world is explored as well as how we stay underwater. The book takes us into the abyss. Then discoveries from the deep are covered, as well as why our oceans matter to us. 

I like the illustrations and the timeline. The illustrations are in-depth and thorough. However, I don't see it checking out a lot. I see kids who are interested in the sea reading some parts of it.
