Based on the original Nutcracker and the Mouse King story by E.T.A. Hoffmann, not the familiar ballet. This Nutcracker has more structure and makes more sense the the typical stories based on the ballet.
I own a few of Puybaret’s illustrated books – he has a unique style that I just love. The text is quite long for a picture book – so be ready for a long story time if you read this aloud. Clara and her family are German.
