BUYING ADVISORY: EL - OPTIONAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
McCarthy takes us on a deep dive into the history of photography and the birth of motion pictures – a deep dive by picture book standards, that is.
Much too dense for a once-through read aloud. I would, instead, chop this up over a few days to support a unit about movie-making or such. Fascinating for a student who can read it all on their own. And the back matter is stuffed with even more information. McCarthy tried, but it is really too much in such a small package.
