Adrian and Santiago are friends who find a falcon that's been hurt. Santiago never gets into trouble, but Adrian is in trouble daily. Each day they go to a field to hang out before going home. It's here they come across the falcon. Adrian then takes the falcon, gently in his jacket, and decides to care for it. During the healing process, both Adrian and the falcon are healed and develop a friendship.
I liked that it shows a boy's concern and caring for another living thing. There's a part of the story where he talks to his class about birds of prey, so he comes out of his shell. The art work is good, really pretty detailed. It's through the artwork that one gets the sense of these boys living in poverty and shows us that world. However, I don’t think students will read this beyond having it read to them or picking it up once.
