A group of friends spend a lazy summer day playing pretend. It begins with Sydney, a sleepy sloth. Each friend pretends to be a different animal. The group plays all day in their tree, pretending. Until they're called home.
The artwork is what gives away the season of the book. And the children pretend the correct characteristics of each of the animals. This book reminds me of my summers as a child, playing in trees and pretending. The ending makes one wonder. Personally, I see this as a one and done book – cute, but not the kind of book that kids will want read to them again and again.
