BUYING ADVISORY: EL(K-3) - OPTIONAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
A young girl's imagination comes to life in this beautifully illustrated picture book. She has lots to do on her island with birds and snails, and friends occasionally come to visit for picnics. The reader is invited to come too, as long as they understand how to share and imagine.
This is the kind of book adults love and kids can somewhat appreciate for the pretty pictures. The girl's imagination is lovely but the entire concept is a bit abstract. I adored the color palette used and the book grew on me with more readings. Any book about imagination is a nice pick, but I think this one will appeal more to the adults who want to read it aloud than to the kids.
