Slice and Cupp take us on a tour through the lives of many people with different types of disabilities, and characters young and old.

Harren’s illustrations are really the star here - a diverse cast of characters abound on each page and a wide range of abilities are visible as readers carefully explore each page. I applaud the effort to highlight the characters’ differences, I do wish that this wasn’t so obviously a didactic book. It does break barriers in showing that differing abilities can easily be illustrated, without a need to point them out. A good first step and way for more children to see themselves within a book.
