Joo Hung’s Grandmother is coming to visit from Korea and Joo Hung is determined to have the most perfect persimmon ready to share with her. She finally picks them a few days before Grandma’s arrival - and as the permissions ripen further and soften, Joo Hung is worried that they are spoiled.
A sweet look at a treat from, perhaps, an unfamiliar culture. I know that i have no idea what a persimmon tastes like! The author even has a youtube video showing how to ripen persimmons into Grandma’s beloved hongshi. A nice way to introduce a new taste to children (or adults!).
