Whenever Mama is sad, or mad, or joyful, she breaks into her soul step to lift her heart and to celebrate. The girl is trying to understand and talks to several other Black women to understand the soul step before she joins her own soul step team.
A lovely celebration of Black history and Black womanhood. I’ve always felt that white people don’t dance enough - and this just makes me jealous. I want to turn on music and dance, even by myself, now! Uchendu’s use of light as power within he illustrations is beautiful.
