Ty returns to the same beach each summer. This year he is old enough to do some fishing. He looks to the sandpipers and the pelican to learn how to fish. He also learns about tides as the boots he leaves on shore suddenly drift out to sea. With a little help from his pelican friend everything works out.
A good read aloud book with wonderful and bright illustrations. It is a beautiful reprint of the 1961 original by the author of Corduroy. The story is sweet and simple about a little boy and his adventure at the beach.
