Max Sterling doesn’t know it, but for all of his school years he has gone to school with a classroom full of robots – except for himself. Since the first day of kindergarten his best friend has been Josie. When Josie leaves him a message on the last day of school, Max heads off to uncover her secret – in fact, Josie and Max are about to expose more secrets than anyone in their city could have believed.

Max and Josie are rising middle schoolers, so if science fiction reads well for your readers, this will work either elementary or middle school. It feels like a single book – a nice option in a world filled with series.
