In the Sea is about sea creatures. Each page has one or more creature. The name of the creature is in bold, and underneath it is a description with facts presented in a poetic way.

In the Sea is very educational, while also stating things in a way that entertains the reader. It has a great flow, rhyming, and is full of information. In the Sea is an excellent way to introduce creatures to small readers, to help inspire them to want to learn more about certain creatures that may stand out to them. I could see primary educators using In the Sea as a tool to introduce a sea-themed unit to their class. The artwork grabs your attention as well. Even my 2-year-old was enthralled with it, and even argued about the octopus being a squid. There is a page on the squid as well, so I was able to educate him on the differences. It opened up the floor for me to have more discussions with my children on sea animals, which is wonderful!
