Mouse has made a beautiful and scrumptious cake for his friend.  Upon arrival to her house he finds that his friend is very ill.  What can he do to help her? Mouse quickly leaves in search of something he help cheer his friend.  Mouse settles on the idea of gathering flowers for her but struggles to decide which flowers to keep for himself and which will make her happy.  He finds, "some for me, some for you" and then stumbles upon the most beautiful and gigantic flower he can find.  In an effort to bring the flower to his friend mishaps occur and Mouse ends up empty handed. In the end Mouse realizes that he didn't need to being anything special to his friend, just his love and friendship.

Although there are few words in this tender story, the expressions of the characters tell us everything we need to know.  Something for You  is a  beautifully written yet simple tale of friendship and caring for others.  We loved the illustrations!  Something for You would make a perfect gift and can be used in a unit/lesson on Friendship.
