AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
A bird IS coming to live in the Doozer’s home. They want to build a birdhouse so it can be happy in his own home and not take over their home. They build several different homes that they think are nice yet the bird has no interest in them. Then they realize that they need to be building a home that has items that a bird would be interested in. They look at what birds like and what the bird likes about their home. They then take those plans and try one more time. The bird likes the new home they build and moves in, giving them their home back.
An adaptation of a Jim Hanson television show. It is written with very simple, large text that is excellent for early readers. The pictures are very captivating and grab the attention of children from toddler ages, up through third grade. Doozers Build a Birdhouse is a great way to encourage children to be excited about learning to read.
