A mixed culture family celebrates two New Years. Rosh Hashanah in the fall and Lunar New year in the Spring. Comparisons are made of the holidays and how similar they are.
I loved the illustrations! Full color and full of cultural images that a child within those cultures would readily recognize. Some of the illustrations look like they are framed with cut paper borders and backgrounds. Includes a visual glossary describing in more detail the traditions mentioned in the story, as well as some questions that can be asked of the child or a class about how they celebrate their own traditions. The family is Chinese/Jewish.
