2 young girls visit their Grandma Dot and they notice a vase if feathers by her front door. Grandma explained that each feather reminds her of her parents watching over her. The next time they visited there are three vases of feathers. Grandma let them play with the feathers. Grandma told them that next year they would visit for her hundred-year birthday party, but instead it was for her funeral. How could the girls still feel close to their grandma?
I enjoyed Schept's affectionate and hopeful story about how traditions help us remember loved ones. Well done watercolor illustrations complete the feelings of comfort and love.
