Mom Monster is talking to her child monster. She is telling him/her all the good things, fun times, and amazing adventures they are going to have together because she is the mom.
Every child would love to be promised such a level of encouragement, support, and very expensive trips. I loved the bright and bold illustrations, but I was a little confused because the pictures show the humans as having negative reactions to the monsters in a few scenes. Are we supposed to understand that sometimes doing your own fun thing will be judged by others? Is it supposed to point out that the monsters are different and scary? The little monster is blue, and in some scenes is shown with an older sibling who is pink. I thought this might be a gender clue but no identification either way is ever made.
