Shermy, a young elementary student is so excited for summer to start. He has many plans to read books, work on puzzles and collect treasures. A new boy moves into Shermy's neighborhood that is completely different from him. He likes to play street hockey and space explorers. He shows up unannounced and has his own rules for board games. As the boys spend more time together, will they learn to get along?
This was a really sweet early chapter book. The way the boys learn to get along teaches an important lesson. We can be friends with those that are different from us. The illustrations are in black and white but are very engaging. The main characters in this book are presumably white.
