Two children decide to take a "wonder walk" so they go out, and ask each other questions, like "Is fog the river's blanket?" and "Do caves have mouths?" They walk through a meadow, woods, climb a tree and visit the shore before returning home in the evening.
Such lucky children, with access to all those environments and inquisitive minds. I loved that the questions were rhetorical and fanciful. I loved the illustrations - rain and wind, fog, shadows and sunshine in beautiful landscapes. I love the idea of a wonder walk.
