AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH

Max Meow, a cartoon cat, lives in Kittyopolis and has 12 followers on his podcast. Max gets a bite of space meatball which transforms him into Cat Crusader, a flying superhero. Evil villain, Big Boss wants his minion, Agent M to steal the space meatball and discredit Max, though he doesn’t count on Max’s scientist friend, Mindy.

The pictures are colorful and bright. This is not quite on par with the Dog Man books, but kids will enjoy it. The plot is straightforward and fairly predictable but a fun ride. Besides, we all secretly wish we had a magic space meatball that could make us superheroes.
