BUYING ADVISORY: Pre K - ADVISABLE
AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
Baby's papa works at the food pantry, he leads a team that helps him. So does the President, but instead of running a food pantry, the president runs the country. There's a line of people to take over if the president can't do her job, and there's people to give the president advice. There's info on how to get the job (people vote for you), how long you get to be president, where you work (Washington DC) and even if baby can be president (nope, not old enough yet.)
A bit of a jump from Dad's job to the president's job. I like how Spiro has simplified this complex political position to the very basics. I don't see my toddler asking me to read about politics, but the book is so cute, and I love the diverse people in the illustrations, so what better way to introduce this to children?
