Grub, 2 Worms, Beetle, and Caterpillar would meet among the roots to play cards. As winter approached, each friend took turns showing their winter stores, knowing they were prepared for the cold months. One night, the friends gathered to play cards, but Caterpillar did not show. Worried, Beetle went looking for her. He found her wrapped in a blanket of warm threads. He reported that Caterpillar needed to rest. As the spring weather warmed the ground, they dug tunnels to the surface. What new world awaited them? And, what happened to Caterpillar?
I could not put this book down. The heartwarming story, along with the ingenious illustrations created a warm spot in my heart. Who knew you could love creepy crawlies?
